2. Different types of laser welding joints implement different processes

1. Laser welding (ordinary welding head, swing welding head, galvanometer welding)

Ordinary laser welding: It is a process that uses laser light to directly irradiate the metal surface to weld two metal work pieces by self-fusion.  Ordinary laser welding heads irradiate laser light on the work piece in a focused or defocused form for welding.

Swing welding head: It can customize the width of the weld and refract light into various patterns during welding to weld the work piece. The advantage is that it can be roughed and welded to some work pieces with large weld gaps.

Galvanometer welding: Large-area continuous welding or spot welding can be achieved without rotating the welding head, which is faster and easier to use.


2. Laser quenching (quenching head)

Laser quenching technology uses a focused laser beam to be incident on the surface of the steel material, causing the temperature to quickly rise above the phase transition point. When the laser is removed, due to the rapid thermal conductivity of the inner layer material that is still at low temperature, the heated surface layer rapidly cool to below the martensitic transformation point, thereby achieving surface transformation hardening of the work piece. For example, the maximum hardened layer depth of laser melting and quenching on the surface of large rolls can reach more than 2 mm.


3. Laser cladding (cladding head)

Laser cladding technology is a process that uses a laser beam and a powder feeder to clad a layer of material with special properties on the surface of a selected work piece to improve the surface properties of the work piece. For a large number of wearing parts such as rolls, guides, conveyor rolls, pinch rolls, and shear blades in the metallurgical industry, the biggest benefit of laser cladding and alloying technology is to change the overall alloying of the rolls into surface alloying or cladding, while greatly increasing the service life of rollers and other wearing parts, the increase in production costs is limited.
